Review
Johnny Stiletto has a wonderful body of candid street photography work, much of it shot in London during the 1980s. Some iconic moments are captured here; flickering glimpses from a turbulent time in our history. Eclectica The kind of photography book you can have on your lap, in bed or even in the bath, if you were so cavalier. There is something pleasantly intimate about the experience of possessing these images. Let Them Eat Cake An intriguing look at an often derided decade. Amateur Photographer A metropolitan rake's progress through the palpitating heart of a city around which a whole country, and culture, pivoted... This is a little gem of a photo book. Snap it up. Guardian

1980s London through the lens of a street-shooter
By Garth Walker
Any shooter with a leaning towards street photography, the City of London, social or cultural trivia and the 1980s 'big hair, lycra and jogging decade' should own this book. Whilst it's no masterpiece of book design, the text is amusing and the images cover a London that no longer exists, some 30 years later. Its a visual guide to the era, through the lens of a Londoner who spent the 1980s with a basic SLR (B&W film) in hand, shooting a 'roll a day' on whatever was in front of his camera. Johnny Stiletto isn't Cartier Bresson, but he does demonstrate that 'having a camera at the right time right place' is the first step to 'getting the shot'. Many of the photographs are shot on the fly, so the results are not Ansel Adams - and are all the more charming and powerful for it. This book is surprisingly likeable (with greater resonance to non-Americans)

Good street photography!
By A voracious reader
The photographer took some great photos and they're wonderfully-evocative of a time and place. In addition, he wrote irreverent comments for each photo. If you love cities - and in particular, if you love London - this book will be a pleasure to peruse.

Not even worth $15
By Vinyl Dan
There are three very important elements when it comes to a photography book. Image size, print quality, and layout. This book does all three of them wrong.
The book is a lot smaller than I thought (about 25% the size of similar books) which results in very small images
The prints aren't good, cheap paper and printing process results in something that looks very moderate.
The layout is the worst. Images split between two pages or multiple images squeezed onto a small page Make this book worthless.
